Evelyn's Newborn Lifestyle Session | Pensacola Beach Photographer

Evelyn’s newborn session at her stunning home on Pensacola Beach is a prime example of how amazing a session can be, despite a colicky baby and an uncooperative toddler

The key factor in our success? Parents who took it all in stride and never stopped smiling. Were they frustrated? Undoubtedly. I noticed the momentary slips in composure. But did they let that stop them from sweetly following my every direction and completely trusting me to capture some golden moments? Nope!

Were a least 50% of the shots I took while Evie was breastfeeding (which mom asked me not to share)? Yep.

The great this about lifestyle newborn photography is that we can be totally flexible and follow your children’s needs. When Evie needed to nurse, she nursed. when JJ here needed a break, his nanny minded him while I worked with mom, dad, and Evie.

(Of course I documented their sweet nanny too, but I forgot to ask her if she minded me sharing, so I didn’t. Also this post has too many photos in it already

Mom wasn't keen on Evie being swaddled. But in the end, after several attempts to settle her enough for the announcement photo mom wanted and not really feeling like I had anything solid yet, I asked mom to pull out a swaddle she liked. A tight wrap seemed to be just when Evie needed. After I was sure I had a few shots with her bundled tight, I tried loosening the swaddle for a few more.

She fussed again, but finally settled enough for a few less swaddled pictures. I know mama was really getting tired here, but she powered through and gosh does she look gorgeous!
